Field Trip: Fun on the Farm!!!
On our off day this week, we decided to check out the Fall Festival at a farm I found online; Miller Farm. It's about 45 minutes away, so it was a bit of a journey, but it was so awesome and we all had a really good time. This place is seriously crazy. Not much of a fall festival if you ask me... but they had some cool stuff outside that the boys had fun playing on so no complaints from me. We paid $65 as a family (I know... seems crazy right... just wait) to get in and they could play on whatever they wanted, and then came they fun part. The fee seems crazy, until you know that for each person who pays to enter, you get 5 FULL BAGS OF PRODUCE PER PERSON that you pick yourself!!! That means we had the ability to collect 20 plastic bags full of produce. If you've ever seen how much can fit into 20 bags....it's pretty insane. Honestly we picked for 3 straight hours and only could fill 13 bags total. It is an INSANE amount of food!! We gave a few bags away to a friend and we still are swimming in produce!! We picked onions, corn, potatoes, carrots, leeks, peppers, beets, green beans, celery, tomatoes and kale. The boys had an awesome time and I got to hear all night long about their favorite parts of picking each veggie. We even had some of our potatoes, corn and onions for lunch! YUM!!

How COOL !! Looks way awesome ! The boys look like they are having a blast !! It's great to have the kids see the veggies come from the ground, not just the store. Great experience for a "day off", even though it was a super educational trip : )
